as I just assumed I would not be entitled to any statutory maternity pay at all and would get the maternity allowance from the government (£124.88 a week for 39 weeks) instead. maternity leave, I wondered if anyone else has been in a similar position and what they got maternity pay wise? Obviously I am pleased to get the 6 weeks at full pay as I wasn't expecting it, but just wanted to check if this is correct and I'm not being diddled lol!

If no-one has any advice, do you think the Citizens Advice Bureau could help?

to good in general...

check out the Guardian - August 16th - Money: "Maternity Leave"

"A new survey suggests that motherhood and high-flying careers are still mutually exclusive."

"Some 53% of those questioned said that women who want a big business post should give up all thoughts of maternity leave – or what they prefer to call a "career break"."
