ted back at it, but now have been offered a regular one-day-a-week slot as a piano teacher in a local secondary (OK,OK I know I said I wouldn't do secondary again!

but hopefully 1:1 will be different!) They have said I need to be self-employed and I should invoice them. It's not as well paid as supply but it's something I really want to do!

So, how do I register as self-employed? Can I still do LA supply on other days? Just what needs to be on an invoice? Sorry! Lots of questions I know, but I don't want to get caught out doing something wrong, or not get paid or something!!!

Hope someone can help -

number? If the LEA sends you a wage slip then they will pay the tax when necessary. If the school pays you a cheque for the amount that you invoice them then you will be self employed and will need to be registered. Have a look on the HM Revenue and Customs website, it is quite useful and explains well whether you need to register or not. The LEA would send you a form to complete to say if theirs is your main employment. Hope this helps.
