Default How do you get job satisfaction/ career success?

Hi teachers!

I have been a Supply Teacher in London Schools for 5 years and I feel passionate about the profession. This is why I have decided to do a little bit of research on us! I would like to know your opinion: how do you get job satisfaction as a supply teacher? And how do you relate your job satisfaction to your career success?

I canīt wait to hear from you!

Lovexxx

Default It's not difficult at all!

Hi guys! I can't believe not a single supply teacher answered! You might feel satisfied in your job because you are planning to go perm soon or, on the other hand, you love your job as a supply teacher and you would never go perm. Maybe the pupils at school give you a bad time or maybe not. Career satisfaction is how do you see yourself within five years; still doing supply or doing something else? What makes you happy about the profession? Come on, tell me something...
Love,

Miss Mess

e a difference rather than just 'child-minding' (no offence to any child-minders!)

I feel satisfied when the class teacher/head/other teachers really value my input and thank me sincerely... when somebody asks for my opinion on a certain child or class (a SENCO recently asked me for my opinion on a troublesome class after my first day with themn...when the children go home happy and full of things to share with their parents about what we've done that day...when I go home keen to return to that school again...!!!

Having said all that, I would much prefer to have a permanent post in one school - supply is my way of networking in the hope that a part-time job will come my way.

I get my job satisfaction when I get to the end of the day feeling that that went well even though the unexpected tried to make a mess of things e.g half the class disappears for medicals and they forgot to tell you. I get it when the children come into the classroom in a morning and look pleased to see me and give me a hug. I get it when parents come in and say "Oh my .... has been talking a lot about what you do with them, they are really interested."
