Am taking this round schools today, with their Xmas card.

On the back it just says:

Spring Term 2006
Mondays: All day
Tuesdays: Afternoon only

Alternatively, the printer says it's out of ink.
Which it's not.
But it has got cheap cartridges in which have been in a while.
So I've been to the shop and got real expensive, to the tune of a half day of work, Epson cartridges.
The printer says it's out of ink.
Which it's not.
I've just spent a fortune on it.
Arghhh!

One, I hadn't been to before, but I had missed calls from them, so it was nice to go... they said they were sure they'd be calling me in the very near future! [smilie=hate-

I use an online calendar.

I use iCal on my Mac to keep an online diary of where I am.

I decide which schools I want to have access to this calendar and send them the link, in an email plus, a proper paper covering letter if I am getting really desperate.

My Supply agency also has this link to my diary so they can check my availability. This has been extremely successful and has led to at least three days per week since the beginning of September, either from schools contacting me directly or from the agency ringing up.

Another advantage is that 99.9% of the work I have had has been pre-booked so no waiting around for the morning phone call.

the usual scenario is:

"Hi Steve it's (School Secretary)
I can see you're free on such and such a date.
Could you do all day on (date) and can I book you for
these dates?"

It works for me.

Steve
