I'd overlooked that one Nutty. What will you do-continue as a supply teacher once you've had sufficient time with your child or try and find a P/T position to suit?

Mmmmmmmmm that seems fairly familiar-I remember last year I started in May and spent ages waiting to get paid, from what I remember it took monthssssssssssssssssssssss (think it was at least 5 months).

Oh the joy of supply teaching, no sick pay, or holiday pay, you wonder whether the designated people will actually sign your timesheet and when you do finally submit it-who knows whether the dept will actually reward you for all of your efforts:

Putting up with attitude.
No planning left.
Staff award you with a blank stare or-poor soul does she really know what she has let herself in for?
TA is either full of it-or an absolute godsend.
Lunchtime is spent in a staffroom where you are greeted with absolutely nothing at all...Who is that stranger in the corner-must be a supply teacher

Jane I will hold my hands up also to being insane, my neighbour who is a teacher (about to retire) was only commenting yesterday about how she would never do supply as it seems so awful

To be honest (people may not agree with me here) but when I look back on my supply teaching (15 months now) I think it has been (in some respects)a good experience. Okay so the lack of security has been tough
