Question Best to go direct??

Hi there. I've just gone back to teaching (primary) on a supply basis, after having my baby. The agency I am using is pretty useless and I'm thinking about approaching my local schools directly. Can anybody tell me a) whether this is the best thing to do and b) how best to approach them. I was going to do a ring-round but I'm unsure if this may be too informal. Any advice will be much appreciated as the pennies are beginning to dry up!!

Hope this helps.... also, there are a lot of threads on the forum about what people have done, mostly in 'Getting started as a supply teacher' I think!

, go for it, you can arrange a baby sitter or day care for baby while you are away, you can have extra pennies to support your family, go for it

Default Not really

I didn't get any joy from going direct too schools, they all like to blame an agency if anything goes wron. I am now with 8 diffwerent agencies and normally work every day. Having said that, work is thin on the ground in hampshire at the moment
