Well I don't feel guilty when they get told off for being little so and sos. Only when I say something in humour that they take seriously and I then have to explain it and comfort them.

Yep, I'll give you that! I do... the only joke I know is one about owls that my dad told me when I was three, and I still haven't got both the timing and the punchline right on the same occassion!

For 4 of the days I was covering a planned absence and I knew there would be planning there, BUT on the other day I was covering a sick day, I knew there was no planning and I still just took that (admittedly, I know the classroom really well and knew I could find everything I needed), but that's a HUGE step for me.

And guess what, it felt great, and I didn't panic about not having any

I'm down to that pack of crappy pencils from Tesco (£1 for 50, don't bother, get the 32p for 12 ones, they don't disappear/disintegrate when you sharpen them!), a water bottle, a pen and my lunch!
