Half a dozen dice (how many classes have I been in where they want a dice game played and there are none?). Pencils, rubbers, reward stickers, paper. An accordian file with plans for lessons from Nursery to Yr6 (I've trawled loads of books, the web and scrap paper drawers in classrooms, and experience from teaching). I've also got a USB data stick with some nice stuff on.

Hi!
Trawling through scrap paper drawers.... best To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. yet! A good way to find out what they've been doing, at what level too!
Will have to go routing through some next week...

I never really feel thirsty, am seriously dehydrated (I eat instead) and always decline a drink (too much hassle getting the mugs/glasses back to the staffroom!) so I now put a bottle for morning, and one for the afternoon on the desk as I arrive. Trying to be disciplined, I'm not allowed to eat lunch before finishing the first bottle, and not allowed to go home 'til the second one's in the bin too!

I am so minimalist in my bag as I really can't be *rsed to lug loads of stuff round with me! I bring:
Packed lunch
Extra chocolate (for emergancies only - yeah right!)
Large bottle of water (I get migraines)
Stickers (work wonders)
Time sheets
CRB check (vital now apparently)
A good short story book/picture book (depending on KS1/2)
1 red pen
1 black pen
A handful of To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

And that's it!!!!

One thing I use now is post-it notes, just to put on the front of exercise books when there's something inside that I want the teacher to see/theat I want to comment on/that I want the child to know/finish etc.
Other than that, I'm down to just my car keys at the schools I know!

Thank you! To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. Exactly like that. I usually go around children when they are wor To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. It also means that during the lesson the children who don't understand can spend the time they need with you, while the others go and work in groups and on their own.
I hope this helps. I was amazed when I first seen a teacher use this strategy.
