Default NUT cymru / teacher shortage

Hi, any of you NUTty ones who have read the Teacher magazine we get sent - did you see the little snippet about how NUT cymru have raised the issue of NQT's not getting jobs so asking Welsh assembly to think about guaranteed jobs for NQT's!!! (pg 10) Good luck!
The issue is the same in England - why isn't NUTty England doing this - is it becuase in Wales they might actually get somewhere but England there's not point? Sometimes I really do think Wales and Scotland have got it some much better than England?

I have to confess I give the magazine to my elderly neighbour to read before I even take the wrapper off! I've not got that much time on my hands at the moment, and she's got all the time in the world, and slowly falling out with the TV!

Seems a bit crazy that they're not doing it in England, except perhaps, yes, they may get somewhere, and then hold England to shame when it's proven to work in Wales?

Also, there's the problem of Wales/England boundaries... if someone's born in Wales, but trains in England, do they count? If someone's born in England, trains in Wales and wants to stay there (guaranteed job/met someone there etc.), then do they count?!

It's exactly what's needed though...
