Default Yet again, research for something we've all known for years!

We know this, we've all known this all the way through the exsistance of education, we shout it at OFSTED when they tell us we aren't raising standards enough, will this 'new' research have any effect. Gov. minsters were apparently at the conference, but I doubt it.
Interesting though that it is more of a factor in the UK, than US. Shows that some part of the their society / communities are getting something right in their attitude to parenting and education.

Probably a lot to do with role models and aspirations from lower income families, it's not that they haven't got money! Gvt claptrapcrap!

You forgot the 'again'!

Articles in TES this week about effect of gender, race and class. Probablly true there are minor swings, but we all already know about these factors, its just the degree that varies!

s ended up in trouble, I was already 8 years late! Obviously support can be given and be very successful, but ultimately, at 2 years old they are already a long way down the criminal path!

Reading that Ruby, just remembered about a friend's school in S Yorkshire where the kids in the infants were doing role play in the home corner thingy place and they were actually dealing!!!
