Default Observations

Hi, i am a NQT and been on supply since Septemeber.
I am currently on long term supply at a school that is judged as nearly in special messures so they have the 'nit' team in at the moment to improve!
I have only been there since 24th Jan i did one full week and on that friday i found out they wanted me back the week after and im still there now.
Basically i was just wondering if i should have been observed by a school advisior? i was on Monday, it didnt go very well, the children were playing up.. (they are a difficult class as it is) and yes it was quite disheartening.
The only reason i'm asking is so many people have told me i SHOULD NOT have been observed as am only a supply and have no fixed contract to that school? - (This has come from staff in the school)

I do not know the legal position on this but I have been observed as a student teacher and a supply teacher. The staff in the school I worked as supply were very disgruntled but I feel that the advisors need to know how the school

es with everything, including how they support temporary staff. I was asked about the routine, if I knew about the special assembly that day (I did), if planning was left, was it always left etc. At the end of the observation, which was to see if the children knew their targets, I was given a little unofficial feedback on my performance, which was complimentary and, I thought, useful.

I don't know if I'm right here, but from experience I'd be inclined to say you should have been observed as much as anyone else... the school is judged as a whole, and at that time you were part of the staff.. even if it's only a one-day contract (which supply is in effect)... I've had formal Ofsted obs on supply, and as a student, though the feedback was more informal as a student...
