(I think these hints are aimed at NQT supplies whou haven't ever had a class, now what it entailes and therefor don't know act in the way those of us who have been on the other side of the fence wished our supply teachers acted!)

, that as supply teachers we are not allowed / insured to restraint children and should be exceeding careful when disclipining children, ENSURING WE KEEP 2M DISTANCE BETWEEN US AND THE CHILD!!!!! , ok yes, rememvber to use calming language, etc etc, but 2 m from the child, surely it would actually be better to be closer to the child so you can talk calmly about it, so the whole rest of the class doesn't know. I odn't think i've ever kept 2m between me and a child - unless i was bellowing across the palyground at them! (or they smelt

2 metres???? So never going to read a story on the carpet then? nor take a book from a child's hand directly when they want it marking? Nor of course help with stuck zips? and definitely not help them up if they fall over then?!

Select, you say? Hmmm well I'll be ok because they sent me a P45 instead of the rules, just before my half term with a little typed note, not even on headed paper, to say that as I'd not worked for them for 13 weeks they were sending me a P45 and I should send it back if I get work from them in the future!

Send it back to whom??????
And I'd be happy to work for them if the looked at a map and reaslised that Milton Keynes is NOT in Oxfordshire and so an '

If you have to sit 2m away from a child reading to you, how are you supposed to hear them! i don't know about you but my hearing isn't all that good!!!

What happens if a child (as they do) runs up to you and throws their arms around you for a cuddle - normally I just pull away carefully but are you supposed to have a shield up or something?!
