I had once:

Don't worry if you don't get them all marked.

What???!!! No

what she was thinking... that Y6 class had to do mocks: Maths Paper 1, Spelling and Handwriting Test, and, Writing Paper.. I shouldn't have been marking any... wouldn't she want to see what they were up to?

I was more worried that she'd not be looking at them, than about not getting them marked... [smilie=rk01_084.gif]

You can use the plans in my folder as long as u put them back, as if I would even think about stealing them.

Nutty - I had that in one of my first ever supply days! I'm KS1 trained and had to do a days work in yr 6 (not knowing that the supply teacher they had the day before walked out cos they threw a tennis ball at her!!). They had to do practice SATs in maths and English as it was the spring term and the other yr 6 teacher expected me to stay all evening to get them marked!!!

Needless to say I said no, never marked sats, not yr 6 trained n shouldnt the class teacher do it?!

Never been asked back to the school, so dont think they took too kindly to that!!

Schools are so fickle about who they ask back.. you were perfectly right to not mark the work!

'know what they're doing'... ha! I had that today a1... was asked not to do my booster groups, but cover a guy who was off sick, started doing the lesson plans which were left out for me though they knew what they were doing... kids didn't tell me they'd done the same lesson this time last week... didn't even realise! I'd been given last weeks lesson plans. Better than last Friday though, when I got given this Friday's plan!

Grrrr....... I was covering Reception for Literacy allegedly today. When the kids came in after break and were sitting down with snacks, the teacher came in and said "can you do PE instead?". I had already prepared all the resources and hadn't even thought about PE!!!!!! I politely said that it would be better if I did Literacy as I had prepared for it and was not prepared to think up some PE activities!

For supply teacher, read supple teacher, not magician! Glad you stood your ground!
