Default Early in the morning

Do you get up and ready to leave each morning?

I'm not with any agency so I don't bother, I tend to get booked in advance for cover for courses etc.

I did get called last Monday though, as a teacher was ill. Half eight they rang, and I was still asleep! How embarrassing! The schools I work in are all about 40 minutes away (there's only two schools closer than that!) so it was well after nine when I got there.

So I got up today... first time I've done that... and I'm not even going into the office 'til this afternoon... sooo disheartening! Arghh! I can't go back to bed though, can I?! :

Have got a tax return to file, so best not.

Am in two minds whether or not to get up just in case again.. I will get work from that school again, I'm quite a regular there, and I don't think I sounded unprofessional as they know I was going into the office for ten, and just 'helped them out' by going in, but it is unprofessional isn't it?

I always get up early just in case but I very rarely have days not booked up (apart from this Wednesday that is!). I feel a lot more organised if I'm not rushed and I can get activities ready just in case the teacher hasn't planned anything for me.

I am up and about, still waiting for that early morning call [smilie=rk01_077.gif] . Don't want to do anything round the house until I hear something. I usually give up about 8:30-8:45 and am resigned to the knowledge that I don't have any work that day.

I've got plenty to do today if I don't get work and I kind of had my last day of term on friday anyway so it's no biggy if I don't get work.

Anyone else off today too? Think I might wrap some presents and do some more last minute shopping before Christmas arrives [smilie=trilly-125-icon_rendeer.gif] !

Morning!

I'm off too... a TA is taking the class I could've had for the day. And they're working! They're doing a science assessment for which she is to run through some revision stuff with them first (Y6), and then a PE assessment, which I taught both Y6 classes for the whole term! Arghh! How can they assess 60odd kids in an hour, when they don't know their starting points, their development etc.?

The world's gone

is coming in about ten minutes (for the last time I might add, as work is drying up!) so I get to work on other stuff for the day.

I've got some analysis for a client to do, and also thought I'd drive round the schools I like, with a Xmas card for them, hand deliver with a

to the secretaries, along with a little 'business card' type thing... name and contact details on one side, the periods I'm free on the other (am contracted 0.5 for the next term). I think they all know, but just to confirm really and refresh!

I like writing Christmas cards, except the ones where you have to write a letter in them... they just take forever, you can see how I like to waffle!

Enjoy your day honey!

Just been wrapping all my prezzies! Didn't realise I bought so many!

I am waiting for an agency to confirm PPA cover work for next term (every Weds in a lurvely infant school) and on top of that, every tues in another infant school. So only 3 days a week to book up next term!!!!

I couldn't possibly drive round all my schools hand delivering cards, it would take me days!!!!! You're very good Nutty!

Not really Clarabelle... I'm only going to four! I'm very choosey

Or rather, there's only 4 who'd take me!

I've decided against the Xmas card now anyway, just taking a little card round to the secretaries, I haven't worked in the schools enough to warrant a Xmas card really. I only started supply in this area this time last year, and have worked in 13, wouldn't go back to 5, have only been to 3 once, work at one most of the week, so that leaves 4! There's only a few I've never worked in, and they're only tiny, tiny schools, so probably never need supply as a lot of teachers semi-retire to the villages they're in.

Best of luck with the PPA, I hope you get it! I love doing it to be honest, it makes a big difference knowing where you're going to be and not worrying about not working that week! It's nice seeing the same faces too, if not because I like them, but because you know what to expect! LOL
