. I was basically told what the 1st 2 questions will be and would appreciate some good advice.

The 1st one is tell us about how you got to where you are now? Think I can handle that one, not that it will be particualrly exciting.

The 2nd question is What can you offer and bring to the school? I have never been asked this before and I am struggling with it. Most probably because it involves being really positve about myself.

Can anyone lend a hand please

curriculum strengths are one place to start and don't feel too like you are blowing your own trumpet becuase everyone has them and each person is different. Then what is it that makes you a good person to employ / be in the scohol, hardworking, team player, organised are the ones that everyone says but is there an example that you can use to prove it, i.e helping out with something that you wouldn't normally be involved in? Then there are the qualities that you think are what make you a good teacher, I find this hard becuase you think that some things are surely the same as everyone else. e.g. I know I am really good at quickly developing positive relationships with children, I thought all teachers were but realising its' not true!
Good luck, hope that helps!

One of my best strengths is my ability to quickly develop good relationships with the children. Being a NQT to be honest I am not that sure about curriculum strengths. I tend to stick with Science and Geography just because my degree involved these but not really sure they are my best. I definately wont be saying literacy though!

Can you play a musical instrument, do you have a hobby that you could turn into an after school or dinner time club, do you like gardening? Basically think of something a bit out of the ordinary that you could offer!

Don't forget a sense of humour. One of the teachers at my current school said when she was asked what she would bring to the school "chocolate biscuit"s?"It certainly swung her way!
I think they also like that you communicate well and make positive relationships with parents, though you may not have much experience of parents yet if you're an NQT.

Didn't get it came second again!

As I was the last person interview I waited in the staffroom with the person who was before me. They took about half hour to decide and it was a close call between me and this guy. The Head was really good and we chatted for about 20mins about whatI did well and how to improve. i really appreciated the advice as nobody else has bothered to take the time.
