Default Awful day

Well today was awful the worst I have had so far. A year 5 class who just don't like supply teachers. At the start of the day 2 girls were sent to another class as they don't allow them in the same class as a supply teacher because they basically run riot. Then I was following the beahviour policy and sent about 4 more kids out. It got to the point where there was nothing I could do they took no notice. So the TA got the deputy head who gave a stern talking to them and took the worst offenders with her. The last half of the afternoon wasn't so bad but I felt terrible that someone had to come in.

But the TA was really nice and told me that its not my failing it happens everytime they have a supply teacher and she feels so ashamed. Some of these kids arn't bothered if they get sent out or anything. Hoping I don't get them again

I'm sorry but those children should not be allowed by the school to have that attitude towards supply teachers. It's outrageous!!!!!! I always call senior members of staff in to intervene. Don't feel bad, it doesn't make you any less of a teacher. If I was their actual teacher I would turn them right around (by giving them detentions for behaving so badly for starters!). It really p's me off that children nowadays feel that they can behave any way they like and have no respect for adults. Rant over!!!!

I would have kept them in all play if it hadn't been for the fact that I was desperate to go to the loo (I'm on). I never get period pain but I kept getting horrible cramps and I'm sure it was due to how stressed I felt.

What a rotten day!!

Get you pj's on get a big bar of choc and have a nice cup of tea. Forget about your day and dont worry that you had to call someone in - if they knew how bad the class were they should have used an internal supply or swapped teachers around to make it easier. Its only giving the school a bad name - not you!

Thanks everyone, had the chocolate as soon as I came in. So much for trying to cut down!

For the past few weeks all I have done is eat so will start afresh tomorrow.
I'm blamming the change in seasons, my body needs to get its blubber back for the winter to keep me warm!

You are not alone..

I had to get someone with a Year 8 group...3 kids caused riots, they ended up spending the lesson with another teacher...on his free period...poor him!

And the deputy head came to talk to them all, after that they were pretty good.

It is my 3rd day in the same school, and I had already had some of the students from that group...who knew better than to try and mess around..but the others pushed their luck.

I felt bad..but only for the teacher who had to get those 3 students stay with him.

Can't wait for the government to bring in something new about respecting your elders. Don't know how they're going to do it but something has to be done. I bet you wish you could give them a clip round the ear like

Fraggle, sounds like you were in my school! The 'worst' kid I take has a brother in Year 10 or something, who is constantly being suspended for misconduct... ASBOs, everything. Young bro thinks he's the

Trouble is, the rest of the class have been with him and 4 others like him for 6 years now, and they've risen to his level of

Take heart that you don't have to choose to go there again... and thank the chocolate god daily for it!
