BSL Level 1
Hey! I just got onto the British Sign Language Level 1 course. It's an evening class every Monday night starting September. Am soooo excited and have already learnt the alphabet and can finger spell slowly and read what others are finger spelling slowly, I know the numbers up to 100 and most To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. s!!!! Plus, I have been reading up about Deaf awareness! Hopefully if I pass level 1 then I can do level 2 and 3 and perhaps become a teacher of the Deaf or a translator/interpreter (like on Hollyoaks!).

Sounds wonderful! I can say "good morning Phoebe" in sign, as I once supplied in a class with a profoundly deaf child. I'd love to be able to do it properly.

I can now sign many countries names (the sign for Scotland is like playing the bagpipes!) and say my name, my job and where I live!

Gosh, if you keep up at this rate, you won't need to go to the class! Maybe BSL could be a project for me to do at home, at least get my started!

Try these if you are interested. I am doing the course as I would like a qualification mainly but also so I can meet new people!

BSL 1 is great fun! I really enjoyed doing it. If you need to buy any books, give me a shout, I still have mine.
If you need any help with signing, also shout, I did stage 2 as part of my Deaf studies degree and can remember some of it!
