Default What to wear on a night out.

I'm off on a girlie night out on Friday. We are just going round some bars/clubs in town.
Its been so long since I've been out that I don't know what to wear. As I am still quite young (ish [24]) I would like to wear something thats 'in' at the moment.
I have been looking in the shops and there seems to be lots of unusual styles in fashion at the moment (poker dots, bright

s, lacey blouses stripes ...)
I quite like the cropped trousers and stillettos style but when I've tried them on I'm not too sure.

Any followers of fashion or anyone else got some style advice?
What did you wear on your last night out?

Joys of being married I suppose!

I'm only 28 and when I do go out I tend to stick with jeans and a nice strappy top with sandles. Everyone seems to be wearing the same (though we do now go to clubs for 25 years plus!

s were all the rage! Up 'ere, people don't follow fashions, you have to venture into towns for that, and they're few and very far between!

The kids at school (I do go into quite a big town, though nearly 2 hours from the Trafford Centre!) and the younger teachers, when they're out, wear eighties stuff, as far as I can tell, and it's getting worse! Stilettos, jeans with a sequin design at the botton of the leg and obligatory back-of-diamond-encrusted-thong showing, thick white leather belt with silver holes in it (hmm, sounds wrong... holes, with like metal edging to them) a la Madonna, and a jade green halter neck baggy crepe top - springs to mind!

If I'm out on Friday night, I'll be wearing combat-type trousers, cross-trainers and a fleece!

Have fun choosing, and have fun on Friday! Let us know what you decide... I'm feeling really old btw!

Oh Nutty, don't put yourself down all the time! Get a flowing gypsy vest top to cover up a bit maybe?!

I've recently discovered Primark. I know it's cheap but if you're only going to wear something once before it falls apart, it's ok!

I grew up on Primark - after I convinced mum to stop making all my clothes! Fab shop!

Will stick to my fleece for now... thanks...

Last time I went out I wore a nice tweed skirt, knitted twinset and sensible lace-ups - I looked fab!!! But then I am 73.

Nutcracker!!!!!!

Nutty - be careful with flowing gypsy tops, I wore one on a night out before I lost weight and saw a 'friend' I hadn't seen in ages. Her first comment? "When's it due? Congratulations!" Needless to say I soon put her right!
