Default Isn't it annoying when... a collection of short stories.

...you turn down work because BT Engineers are coming, you've booked them 2 weeks in advance, and with 1 hour to go in their working day, you get a call to say they won't be able to make it because of the adverse weather conditions?!

No-one else is having problems getting to work today!

They're apparently having problems with lines being down etc., emergency repairs to be done...

Could they not call me earlier?

Didn't I ask for a repair to be done two weeks ago?! Arghhh! All these people getting their repairs fixed straight away!

s at home with me, who can't be trusted when strangers come to the door, so to save the hassle when s/he arrives, they've been locked in the back all afternoon.

ALSO! I'm really, really, not one of those people who can get on with other things whilst waiting. I raced home from school at lunchtime, and have literally sat watching out of the window since I got back (it's now 3:57, they rang 3 minutes ago, I could've worked!) like a jack-in-a-box everytime I heard a van/wagon coming!

Still, at least I can now relax and get on with other stuff... for what's left of the working day!

Oh yeah happened to me before V.annoying and timewasting, apparently we must all be rich enough to sit around waiting for people like that to come@1
