Default Signing on a good thing?

Hi just wondered whether it's worth signing on??? Ive had some busy weeks and some not so busy. My husband is temping too and although he seems to get a lot of shifts money doesnt really come to much. So can anyone give me any info if it's a good

? Any money would be a great use to get rid of some debt and then i can maybe move back out!

Ive heard it will sort out National Insurance Contributions too to help later on? I heard you can only do it if you work 16 or less hours a week...how does it work out in hours each day? i just get paid by the day.

any info at all appreciated!!

There is a thread on this somewhere else in the forum - think in the 'surviving when not in work'? Someone went through the whole process a while ago and kindly rote it up for us. (Cannot remember who, sorry!)
