Footie, I'm sure they're pleased you've got a new job... a lot of agency workers are ex-teachers, and as such, are delighted when anyone else manages to get out of the profession in a positive way!
I can't imagine that they'd be pleased you're leaving for their sakes... they make money out of you! It's more profitable to find work for people already on the books, than to advertise for someone else to come on the books and then find work for them!
My ex-head was sooo pleased when I handed in my notice, he knew I'd be so much happier where I was going, he was pleased for me... it took him a few days before he said he was sorry to lose me, for the sake of the school, though it was nice of him to say it whatever... agencies just wouldn't get round to this though would they? And they'll be pleased to write your references too... it's nice to write references when you know they are good people!
