Default OK, tax question! P60s etc

Hi,
I am employed by the LEA and I have just found out that my P45 which I returned to the LEA (as I was working full time til Oct) can only be redeemed tax wise on one of the schools I work in. The other schools I work in will continue to tax me with emergency tax and I will need a P60 at the end of the year (when is this?!) to claim back my tax.
So, some questions!
1) Will each school know that they need to do this for me?
2) Will they send me individual P60s?
3) Any thing else I should know?
Help!

Do the schools pay you individually or do you get a payslip from the LEA?

As I see it:

If from the LEA: following year end, which is 5th April, all your details will be sent to you. You should get just one P60, from the LEA. The details from your P45 will have been included in this. If you are owed tax/need to pay extra, there will be a statement with this. They can make any adjustments through your PAYE, i.e. take £99 out of your next pay packet if you owe £99 extra to what they've paid.

If paid through the schools: they may all send you P60s, and yes, they'll know they have to do this, but I doubt very much that they have to, unless they've private schools, I'd stab a guess that the LEA will sort it. One of them (where you worked most often?) will have included your P45 details on theirs. It'd be then worth a call to the Inland Revenue to get them to check if you're owed tax... they will get

ies of all your P60s from the schools, but their computers are clever. If you owe them money, they tell you and you have little time to get it to them or get a fine. If they owe you money, surprise surprise, the computer doesn't pick this up! You have 6 years to call them and initiate the computer check against your details... then they'll send you a cheque... but ask for it quick, coz the computer often forgets about it!

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your speedy reply and for the info!
I get separate payslips from each of the schools (apart from the LEA one which covers the one that they have put my P45 next to!) so I *should* expect P60s from all the others then and will see what happens then. Hopefully, I won't owe them tax, it should be the other way around!!!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I love this forum!!!!!
