An Idea for a Circus Activity
I joined this forum to share with you something that I have found useful. Supply teachers are in a unique position to pass this on to a lot of people, even if you aren't interested in using the various options yourself.
I have used circus skills in schools a number of times as an engaging PSHCE lesson, focusing on the health benefits and the concept of committing to practicing something for self improvement.
The workshops are provided by an excellent contemporary circus theatre troupe.
They provide plenty of options for circus activities for schools.
- Circusize is focused on circus skills for fitness and is perfect to fit into a PE syllabus.
- Get Your Act Together is based around learning circus performance and fits well into drama classes.
- Give-It-a-Go sessions are also available for a less structured sort of class.
