Default don't want to go back to school :-(

Hi all,

I've not been here for a long while - it's coming up to 18 months since I last earnt a supply teacher's wage. I struck lucky with a lot of archaeological work post-ex work but things are looking very scarily thin on the ground for freelancing what with the cuts and the Big Society of keen baby boomer retirees willing to do archaeology for free on their healthy pensions. My CRB will have lapsed. I'm completely out of date as keeping up to date with my archaeological specialism takes enough effort.

If I have to go back to supply I may change agencies (have been with Hays). This time round I'll want free, useful CPD and a consultant who bothers to get to know my teaching skills and weaknesses and not just randomly plonk me in any old school. This time round I'll not let myself get treated like dirt by secretaries and staff. No more patronising looks -I've got two masters degrees and a publication record and no I do not have time to bloody well get my head around division by chunking!!

So what's changed out there? Anything you can say that will prevent me from setting up a brothel or selling both of my kidneys rather than ring up a supply agency?

yours, hoping not to still be Still Here

I'd go for the brothel SH!
Personally, I'll be doing B&B instead of supply from now on,

, but let's deal with your division issues while we're here...

Would you like me to check your covering letter, CV, supporting statement or application form?
