Unhappy Signing-on for the holidays

I'm sure that I am not alone but I hate signing-on for the hoildays as it is so degrading! A small crowd of jobless (mainly men) hang around outside the Jobcentre smo

and putting the world to rights (if you were an employer and one of them turned up you'd never give them a job in a month of Sundays) and when you get inside you have to wait for ages just to be seen by a condescending child who thiks you should grovel and be grateful for the pittance of an allowance that you have contributed for and are entitled to!....Bring on the new academic year and be quick about it.

I can relate although I have only signed on once in the 7 years I've been teaching/doing supply. It's such a pain and by the time you get any money back, it's time to get back to work anyway!!!!
