Default Ooh! Visiting a new school tomorrow!

Hello there!

I saw a job advertised on the Essex website for a part time job share (2 days a week) at a school fairly close by and I'm going to go for it! I have arranged a visit tomorrow after school and to pick up an application form so it's very exciting! I'm going straight from work so won't have much time to prepare myself really. Are there any questions I should be asking do you think? It's not an interview yet but it would be good for me to get to grips with what the job will entail and whether I definitely want to go for it. I would prepare a job share as I am not yet sure that I can

e fully with a full time permanent position. I will continue to do supply cover to make it up to full time.

Oops, got to go and prepare dinner, hubby has given me the orders!!!!!

Sounds like a perfect job for you - hope you like the school.

I'm a bit late now to give you any questions but normally I would just be myself and not ask questions just for the sake of asking questions!

It may be nice to find out the strengths of the job sharer so you can play on different strengths on your application.
Maybe show a willingness to run a club by asking what lunchtime/after school clubs they currently run.
Ask about the catchment area, particular special needs of the children who would be in your class... basically anything that you can use to your advantage in your application and interview.

Good luck

e agood impression. The application form has been filled in and handed in too! I was the first one too, early to the visit (the other guy was half an hour late!!!!). Fingers crossed I get an interview but if not, I'll put it down to experience.

The school rang today -not about the interview but to say, they'd like to offer me supply work from September (does not effect my application, i.e. I am still a candidate for the jobshare) - So I said of course!!!! Hubby has been offered a job in a different dept. today (still contracted work not permy) at a 15% pay increase so things are looking up! Obviously I'd rather he be permanent but all in good time!

Congrats for your new school, I just say that keep hard work and make a good impression on your teachers. Remember “first impression is the last impression”.
