In general what is the situation about meetings on non work day can anyone help me please. Should I be sticking to my gun, I feel as if I give on once the flood gates will open!

Oh!!!! So nice to hear from you and that you're doing ok!! It's a bit different isn't it, doing part-time?

You're right, the floodgates will open! I've never gone in on a day I wasn't at work, which was quite easy for me as I live over half an hour from the schools I contracted to, so really was very rarely asked, and always pre-empted it and had a reason not to go in!

Though to be fair, like you are doing, I changed parents evening to a day I was in already...

I knew a lady who turned up every Monday (her one day off) to staff meetings, it was her choice, the Head didn't twist her arm too much, but personally I thought (and the rest of the staff thought) she was

y of anything that was handed out. Like checking the school diary too, I had to do this each morning as I arrived to make sure I knew what was happening for the next few days. But they can't make you go in - don't, unless it's in your interests more than spending the unpaid time on yourself! I'd have gone in if we had a pre-Ofsted meeting perhaps for my own sanity, or a twilight INSET that I particularly was interested in, and thought might be fun - it's my day off!
