Default Phew I have missed a few threads!

Been reading but it's been a little manic so not posted much. The other night I had a (not so hilarious at the time) computer disaster and I was so fed up! The Y2s I have been working with, who were really sweet, and are the deputy head's class, had a whale of a time designing me some sticker pictures and slogans one afternoon when there wasn't any planning left even though the booking had been

e for a while - but they had muddled it up, and I wasn't really needed. Anyway.

I carefully scanned in all the pictures and spent ages designing the stickers, but didn't print them because one of the inks was out, so I saved them. Opening them on Tuesday night, to my horror I discovered the text had vanished and all the formatting had gone wrong!!! I was really fed up, but as Wed was my last booking for the school, and because the kids were really excited about my using 'their' stickers, of course I stayed up late on Tuesday redoing them. Sooooooooooooooooooooooooo

! I was exhausted on Wednesday!

Then yesterday, I went in to my new school and had a planning meeting. All fine and dandy, they are sending me on lots of training etc. And then the FS Team Leader said 'By the way, did you know we're expecting an Ofsted?'I had checked their report - not the greatest but improving - and thought there might be so I didn't exactly choke on my coffee, but I feel a bit nervous now. Still, it's grist to my mill - if I do well in the Ofsted, they are more likely to want to keep me on, and if Ofsted don't come until the following term, then they aren't going to want to 'break in' a new member of staff...either way it could be a 'win - win' situation - looks good on a CV too, I guess.

Computers are fantastic...until they go wrong - which they seem to do very frequently!!

By the way, I learned a useful trick for computers after a child managed to turn the screen sideways - i.e. the picture/text/toolbar etc goes sideways, not the actual screen!

Anyway, if that happens to you, just press CTRL, ALT and one of the ARROWS (the inverse of the direction you need to change) simultaneously and it'll right itself - go on, try it now!!

As for Ofsted, Jenny - just chill and go with the flow

! As you say, it's a win-win situation for you. Good luck!

Oh no! Just what you need - on both the sticker and ofsted front! I am sure you will be fine though. Try not and worry too much about it over the holidays, try and get some rest! x

Ofsted or no, I'm intending to go back in September full of enthusiasm and good

s, so I'm going to have a really good rest in the holidays! I'm not too worried, my team leader is very experienced and will make sure I'm up to date with everything, and know exactly what I should be doing. Their KS1 only has 1 class per year, so I think the team will be pretty close-knit and all support each other - and the current Reception teacher is going into Y2, her TA will be in Y1, so I will already know most of the staff. The only person I haven't met yet is the Y1 teacher - who hasn't yet been appointed - and the Y2 TA. Quite pleasing that I won't be the only new face - and I'm not a new face anyway because I have been before on supply!

I will be trying to find advice if we DO get the big call though - so any suggestions for someone going through Ofsted would be very welcome, especially from 'Ofsted Mary'!

All sounds very promising Jennyfleur, lots to look forward to (put Ofsted out of your mind for now). I'm in similar position as I know the staff at my school to be because of supply there and there are 2 other new faces joining me in september (although I am the only NQT among them).

Have some
