Default Advice re: references please :-)

I'm in the process of looking into permenant jobs for next year to complete my induction. As an NQT I don't have any old heads to ask for a reference really and haven't spent much more than a week in one school which doesn't feel long enough.

As the forms tend to say they want a current or most recent employer, should I ask the agency I work for, or would my references for when I left uni last summer still be appropriate?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Jo :-)

I would ask for a refernce from any agencies you work for as they are your most recent. If you only have one agency then agency and last tp head.

Good luck! x

Spoke to the guy at the agency yesterday and he was more than happy to give me a reference which means today is being spent applying for jobs and trying to recover before another tough day in year 6 tomorrow...why on earth did I agree to go back for the first part of next week I've cried twice after tough days already this week!!

Glad you have your references sorted out. You sound as though you are having a tough time at the moment (is it just the yr 6 group that you have worked with at that particular school)? If you've found it so emotionally draining I would reconsider doing loads of supply there if it is that bad. You should not be

e to feel like that at all, was it behavioural, what support were you offered, if any? Remember you deserve to return home after a day of supply feeling okay. Supply is not the easiest option in the world and yes we all have bad days but you should not be in tears and dreading returning there having accepted more work!

Remember to take care of yourself and that includes not accepting work at schools that make you feel so S*** otherwise your health may start to suffer through the stress etc etc etc etc.
