Default Stressful 72 hours

Just need to offload so please excuse any mistakes!
Phew, where do I start? Sunday night I had little sleep due to dh coughing & being sick, he went to work on monday despite a headache, Henry was a little s*d all day monday, refusing to sleep and getting ratty cos soooo tired. I rung dh in tears asking him to come home as Id had enough but he couldnt

.
Monday night we again had little sleep as Henry had tummy bug and kept poohing n wouldnt settle unless with us. Tuesday dh went to work and I dropped Henry off at my mil before going to work. Whilst there Henry decided to do a running lunge at me whilst I was kneeling down, causing me to loose my balance and send the 2 of us flying across the kitchen fllor, Henry banging his head and me knocking the better of my hips and knees.
Manage to console Henry and go off to work. Whilst there I get a text from DH to say that he was being sent home with this heaadache, which p1ssed me off a bit as I felt sh1t but knew I had to carry on to sort out Henry etc. I got home at 6pm and dh was in bed, we got no response from him which p1ssed me off even more!! I put Henry to bed, had a

and was about to go downstairs when DH called me and asked me to get a dr out to him. This rang alarm bells straight away as normally I ahve to drag him kicking and screaming to the drs if he needs one.
By this time he was in extreme pain, sensitive to light and sound, nauseous (sp?) and glands in neck swelling. Bein a paramedic he refused point blank when I said 'shall I just call an ambulance?' Dr decided to admit him to hospital to get some tests run to rule out a bleed on the brain. We were sat in A&E for hours until he was put onto the Emergency Assessment Unit and seen by a dr who ordered a CT scan and lumber puncture to be done. At this point DH sent me home as it was 1am and knew that I would be up at 5am with Henry.
I reluctantly went and spent all night/morning pacing the floor until I could drop Henry off at Nursery and blag my way into visiting. Once I got there I was told that it definitely wasn't a bleed on brain, that they were pretty certain it was viral menigitus but wanted to do more tests to rule out TB & mumps! He is dosed up to the eyeballs on morphine, so pain is bearable, but very sleepy as a result. They are going to keep him in for a few days until all results are back and they can say for sure what it is.
Hopefully I will have a better

tomorrow. What is it with him and me being pregnant?!! With Henry it was a broken leg and now this this time around....!!
Thanks for 'listening' if you have read this far. I feel better for the rant! Just wish I could have a nice strong drink now!!! xx

Hi Footie

Sorry, haven't been around much either (working lots, so good, but neglecting friends, so bad...). Fingers crossed for a speedy diagnosis, treatment and recovery.

Look after yourself as much as you can (difficult with Henry I know) and let us know how things are going.

Big

. Left a message for you yesterday and I hope he is beginning to get on the mend. At least they are treating him for it now, although it can be really tiring going back and forth to hospital and even more so for you with the bump and Henry. Don't forget to take care of yourself too. xxxx

Thank you. He seems a lot better now, but thats more due to the painkillers than anything else. He has been moved out of emergency assessment unit to a normal (tho oap!!) ward. Luckily tho the charge nurse is a close friends husband, so he is being well looked after.

Hopefully he will be discharged tomorrow morning - I dont know if thats a good or bad thing!!! - and just has to rest and keep on top of painkillers.

Thankfully Henry has been at nursery all day today and yesterday afternoon which has been a godsend, but I have been at the hospital from 1-6pm both days. I havent been sleeping due to worry/stress etc so am knackered and could do with a holiday!! But on the plus side, bump seems to have thrived on it all this week as I have suddenly got huuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggggggeeeeeeeeee!!!

Right, must go and hide his phone, any bike bells etc that could be used to call me & demand something!!! xx

Oh F/Girl so sorry to hear that you are having such a rough time, you do really need to rest when possible (I know it is easier said than done) but you do need to take care of yourself and bump. I'm pleased OH is being treated and in the right place, Henry sounds soooo full of life bless. Take care we are all thinking of you.

Sorry I missed this but the CV thing has kinda worked and I'm getting some work in, let's hope it increases now eh.

Was it definitely viral meningitis? I've heard it is going round our neck of the woods too. Our local hospital is closed to visitors at the moment, my OH was up at A&E with an ongoing stomach complaint which has got progressively worse, the sent him home and told him to wait til his specialist appointment. So he's in alot of pain at the moment. It is knackering isn't it Footie? Hope you get a break too F x
