and cheer you up! On Wednesday night after putting Henry to bed I went to put his nappy in the dustbin, slipped and landed on my arse and left foot. I rang my dh in tears due to the pain - as bad as labour! He arranged for one of his colleagues to come and see me, he ended up taking me to A&E and after 3 hours and 2 xrays I was diagnosed with a fractured lower 5th metatarsal on my left foot (ie a broken foot!) and was put in plaster to my knee and given some crutches!
Was even given gas & air as pain relief whilst they were putting me in plaster! God that stuff is good! I went back yesterday to see the Dr who

ed at how I had done it and called me the 'nappy lady'! I now have a lovely pruple plaster to me knee on, I just have to pluck up the courage to walk a little on it now!

So for the next 4-6 I will be in plaster. Gods knows how I will get Henry up/downstairs and up from the floor, but hey ho! At least no nappy changing and my bingo wings will disappear as I am going up and down the stairs on my bum and using my triceps to push myself up!!

!!! Must have been bloody painful though, OH didn't even break his 4th and 5th two weeks ago, but if it weren't a pretty nurse attending to him, I think he would've been on the gas and air! Can't imagine how much pain you were in!

Choosing your nick for the forum must have been a premeditative move!

OH sends his best (we're taking his crutches back on Monday night) and now agrees with me even more that having babies is a dangerous business!

If you ask nicely, I'm sure ski will share some of her wine and choccies with you!

Poor you! At least you didn't end up covered in the nappy contents though! Speedy recovery!

e you all smile!

Luckily the nappy was in a nappy sack, so no contents over me!

Nutty - I can only compare the initial pain to labour it hurt that much! (What did your oh do n how?)

I am slowly getting there, have a lovely pink plaster from toes to knee now and from this afternoon was able to walk on it using my crutches which is fantastic! Fingers crossed when I go back in three weeks it is all healed!

OH ran into a wall, backwards, playing badminton the first Thursday in Jan. They thought he'd broken the 4th and 5th metatarsal on his right foot, but they're not broken, just not very happy! He refused to use his crutches after a week, paraphrasing the nurse when she said '(when the swelling goes down) "start to exercise the foot soon" (after)' - typical! Now is annoyed that he still can't play badminton and still has a limp!
