Default New Years Resolutions / Hopes / Aspirations

Well we had a similar one last year and all did very well from it and got most of what we want (although I got Henry a lot quicker than anticipated!!

), so I thought we had better start another one.

Mine:
  1. Get back into my size 12's! (am in my 14's so not far to go!!)
  2. Get my fitness back and run a 10km by Christmas
  3. Hope that we can get our childcare sorted successfully before I go back to work
  4. That Henry continues to thrive and develops as well as he has been
  5. That I get a full nights sleep very soon! (seem to have taken a big step backwards there at the mo after doing so well!!

So, what are yours?

Quick review of last year's first!

Personal Challenge - Climb Scafell, Snowdon and Ben Nevis.
Well I did Coniston Old Man twice. Hmmm, might add that to the list again this year!

Healthy Living - Here it is again - lose 4 stone.
I'm basically half way through this one! I'm really, really pleased actually, I was aiming to get into a certain pair of trousers and a Fat Face top I got as a pressie from my last school (was skinny then) and I've got into them! So, having a break before I go for the other half, I want to get my wear out of the clothes before they get too big! Got an outfit I want to get into for Easter, so that's the next goal.., and unlike every other year, I know I can do it now!

Lifestyle - Work on my social life.

We spent New Year's Eve in the house looking after the

's that?! Still haven't got any 'close' friends, but I vent to you lot anyway.

Misc - Get the roof on the lounge!
Hmm, sore point! It's not on yet, but a month's work towards it has been done at least. We needed to prop the gable wall up to make the opening to this new lounge. It's taken 3 steels and now it's done. I have plywood walls in my existing lounge, but at least I know that we're further on than we were last Christmas.

Misc - Make sure the house is 'visitor-friendly' at any time.
It's better! Still not right, but at least now we can use the renovations as an excuse and feel justified as the rest of it is clean if not tidy.

This Year's List

1. Those mountains are still calling. Have done Snowdon before, but loved it so should do it again.
2. Lose the rest of the weight.
3. Maintain new friendships.
4. Get roof on!!!
5. One-touch system with all mail and school paperwork. A friend in Surrey does this... if she picks up a piece of paper, she doesn't put it down until she's actioned it and can either bin it or file is as complete... wonderfully organised lady! She won't open her mail until she has time to deal with it all there and then. Same with school stuff. Anything arising from staff meetings is dealt with before she goes home. She may be late home that night, but she has such a good quality home life because of it, never stressed as she knows everything's done!!!! I just need a month or so to catch up with old stuff before I can get to this point!

Hmmm, resolutions. Well I started one back in November, that was to not waste so many mornings staying in bed!
I've already got my wedding dress so there's no point losing much weight before summer, I'd like to improve the muscle tone in my arms, and since I learned to swim last year, I'd like to go swimming at least once a week. Oh and I want to write my dissertation before September so that this time next year I'll be Mrs A1 MA!

Well it doesn't look like I wrote any last year and I'm not sure I'll be any good at keeping them but

1. Lose some weight (once I've finished devouring the xmas sweeties, no point til then cos I would only eat them and ruin the healthy eating)
2. Linked to number 1, get back to shopping online, to avoid temptation to buy unhealthy things but also to save some money.
3. Decorate the entire downstairs of the house (already started, went to B and Q yesterday and now

ing wallpapers).
4. Try not to shout at OH as much, it's not his fault he isn't as neurotic about things like the way I like towels folded etc.
5. Get the

out for longer walks (hard with the rubbish weather, dark mornings/evenings etc but am going to try).
6. (would never admit it to OH) but stop ignoring last minute supply phone calls when they come in.
7. Go to bed at a decent time so I'm not too tired in the morning to get up and do number 5.
8. Spend more time with friends, and make a big effort to message loads of people on facebook to catch up (over xmas met up with some friends I hadn't seen in 6/7 years and it was lovely).
9. Make time for me and OH as a

at least once a month, proper time where we don't think about anything else.
10. Hmm, will have to think of a tenth to round it off, might have one in head, not sure about it.

'This is a reminder to spend just 5 minutes clearing a path in your worst room' Love it... clearing a path! I'd have to clear a path to, not in! Will definitely check back there often!

I know, it's a bit of a scream, but if you start with the crisis cleaning and then do a few 27 fling boogies it really pays off
