shock - my head been made to resign effective immediately!
Well that says it all! We were all called to a meeting just now, and the head told us that the LEA had To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. So i've only just arrived and now the head that gave me the chance to get back in to it, needs that chance himself!

That's the one thing that all of us are thinking. Our school is currently really relaxed - people mainly getting on doing their own thing (probably why we arne't hitting targets!) so I think a new head will affect the way the school runs quite a lot. But I think we will have our deputy acting up, for quite a while unti they appoint and our chair of governors assured us that the 'trouble shoorter' will jsut be there to help, not try to change anything. So we will just have to see.

It's probably the whole point of the trouble shooter to change things though! My old head went on secondment a few times, was fab at facilitating change that the staff actually wanted, but knew would never happen with their old heads... he got offered every position that he was looking after.. .never took it though... To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. you get him, he's fab! Hard luck for the original head though, I think one an LEA makes it's mind up, there's no changing... like your head said, people can never pass capability tests, they're too invasive...

well just got back from the leaving do we had rapidly organised, everyone is in shock - and wondering what is going to happen. Some people know of the guy that's coming in and were saying - 'he's an old windbag - likes the sound of his own voice!)' not quite sure what to make of that. We will see, I know our staff are a really strong lot and supportive so peopel are saying that whatever happens they won't change the staff atmosphere - I hope so because that is what I need. I think I would like more leadership than we had, but just not like some of the heads l've seen. I don't need that at all.
But rather strange having my first staff drinks as the head's leaving do. And tomorrow's inset is performance management!

the ex- head led the INSET!! It was rather strange, but as he had already got his head around the info we needed and the really boring powerpoint presentation from the gov. he did it - then left us with the deputy (Acting head) to sort out the knitty gritty of who PM's who, what our whole school targets would be. It showed that really as a school we are good at managing our selves. We got loads done abd all democractically! Then went to the put for lunch for finally say goodbye.

I've got a Perf. Mmt meeting tomorrow, first one I've had as I retired the year it all started.
We have to have a numeracy and a music target, plus one other... any To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. s for the other?
I was thinking along the lines of:
Aim to say something positive in class at least once a day, pick a child, any child!

I suppose I should start thinking about that - I don't know where to begin, I haven't done it before either. We have one whole school target - which as it is reading, kinda fits into my curriculum responsibility, so I don't know! After today - manage to stay more alert and on the ball than the children, after a hectic weekend might be one. I am still recovering from the wedding - really should be in bed by now!
