Default Back to school tomorrow:(

Anyone else? I've got 2 insets before the kids come back and plenty to fill it with, I'm going to hang an old piece of army netting on my ceiling for a rainforest canopy! I do feel fairly rested but haven't sold the house which was our plan, so if we sell it it will be a busy move rather than a holiday move, oh well. Good luck to you all!

Yes, I'm back tomorrow, just one Inset, kids back Tuesday... only 1 hour to spend in classroom though, pretty busy day with training on... layered targets or target layering? Something like that... and

I have to deliver an hour on music! Going to do 20 mins waffle, then give them 40 minutes to plan first half term (bet they all do displays instead!) as we're changing from the awful Music Express to the QCA scheme.
There's a fine line in those 20 minutes though, do I get them singing? Have told some teachers that I am, so some are excited, the others just said they'd walk out!
Going to be a tough call I think!

Good luck everyone starting back tomorrow. Unfortunately I'm back to day to day supply now so instead of being bummed about going back, I'm bummed about not having a proper job! I'm really going to miss it. So I hope that you all come on here and tell me your horror stories of all the marking/target setting/assessment/displays etc. you are doing so I won't miss it and will be glad to be regaining a social life!

Shall I start????? I've been in all week, trying to sort out my classroom, and failing miserably... and I've worked all day today on what to do about delivering music training to 20 disenchanted staff! I only finished three minutes ago, so now I've got to get my bag ready, clothes for the week, wash the bedding, cancelled night out last night and tonight, and dinner in two weeks' time with friends!! Arghhh!

*Double cliche coming up*

Bring it on!

Not!

well this is just a quickie catch up before I go to bed to chill as i'm feeling totally dazed after my first day with children - but good dazed I think!
THe class is 99% lovely, I gained 3 children I didn't know about at 9am, at various points through the day - 2 who only arrived in the country last week and speak no english!
Then at the end of the day, the head arrives to ask me (well tell me) I'm to help co-ordinate literacy (with 2 others) it's a big thing in our school so it might be interesting but I am really interested in literacy and at least I only have to think about ks1.
But everyone has been lovely and having a 5min walk to school (in the sun today!) is great. Just need to not spend the extra time i gain

Nutty - we do layered targets as well - so is your school under ESS? I think i've got my head around it - we're really pushing it this year as apparently other schools in the area that have really done it have really seen improvements.

, have I missed something (probably!) about the house - why are you selling / moving?

So good luck to those with class responsibilities and good luck to those waiting for the full time teachers to get sick! Make the most of the blue skies while we are inside!

We only want to move to something bigger ski, not relocating. The boys are in one bedroom and we have a tiny garden so we need to expand. Just not getting anyone through the door!
