Default Fairy dust finally visited me!

Well, finally some good luck for me. After all the upset with my references, I have a long term contract.
My dad asked one of his contacts in london for some advice on what heads might be thinking about my application / references. And she gave the same advice as i'd been getting -
but

more importantly, she was impressed by my application (and maybe family links) to offer me a long term supply to cover a maternity leave from half term to end of school year. It is in london so I will be living with parents for 7weeks, but it is money, a job, a reference and hopefully some of my self esteem and teaching confidence back. She knows my situation and will be supportive. It is a tough class, went in to visit today and could hardly spend any time with the head as she was sorting out 2 boys from what will be my class! I'll also have to get over the culture shock of north london, i'll delve into my childhood and remember what is was like to be at school in london myself. It's reception which is also excellent as it will give me vital experience in the area I want to be in!

So that's my news, wedding was great to, good catching up with girls I grew up with and haven't seen for years. No single guys but lots of great

Fantastic skiteacher! There goes that rainbow you see! Silver lining on any cloud... I'm so pleased for you! Enjoy every minute, and let your parents look after you too... put your energies into school rather than housework, and you'll enjoy it all the more = an even better reference at the end of it!!!

for the maternity to decide she doesn't really want to come back if you're happy there too!

HI all, and thank you for your wishes and congrats.

Hopefully it will be ok, behaviour can't be much worse than what I encountered in one 15min period on wed (reception: chair throwing, child assaulting another, child hitting me and throwing my glasses off, - honestly they aren't usually that bad!!)

As for staying on - well I think they have someone to cover for it from sept, it's that the teacher needs to start maternity early as it isn't going well. Also - I couldn't survive in london any longer. And my parents don't really do the pampering / looking after treatment, they are hardly ever in during the week and they haven't ever really got to grips with me being vege!!

I can spill some beans now too!

That meeting that I couldn't write about? Well, basically, there was another last night... and...

I've been covering a class of 19 x Yr5 since Easter for a teacher off sick, and I now know I'm there 'til July, and possibly - probably - from September too! I have 1.5 days a week at another school at the moment, but the HTs are going to get together to sort something out so I can stay in my class full-time as I only really do Boosters and SATs are next week (as if you needed reminding!)

The teacher should be back tomorrow from sick leave, but can't take the class still for one reason and another.

I was at my other school this morning when the kids were told, apparently they cheered and told the HT that my name needed to go on the door instead of their old teacher's before I got back, so that was a lovely surprise for me after lunch today!
