Hi,

I've only been teaching on supply for a month or so but it has really

) it should be done in a year or so. I am with select at the moment doing TAing and cover supervising in secondary schools. After the experiences I have had in different schools I have decided that I want to teach kids with SEN and wondered if getting QTS would be any different. I was going to try for a GTP, would this still be OK for SEN?

Once you've qualified you can look for sen placement jobs, but I would advise you go for mainstream first so you get that experience, you're bound to have sen kids within your school. When you've done a

e senco this year without much prior experience (I taught overseas for 8 years and spec needs were not quite dealt with in the same way) and I am literally learning on the job, but it is much more interesting than I thought it was going to be.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to let the agency know what I want to do and hopefully they will try and get me some experience with SEN.
