I've just completed my first day as a cover supervisor...AAAHHHH

My best advice would be:

of months,at first you'll be giving warnings, writing diary notes and running detentions to lots of students but once they get to kno that you mean whatyou say and will follow through on punishments they will settle down and your life becomes a lot easier.

Also get to know which staff are supportive and will help out if you need it.

I feel your pain. I've been doing secondary supply for 3 months and still get nervous as I wonder what school I will be sent to tomorrow! Once you're in one school though, it is just a matter of time before the students begin to know and respect you.
