ok, work this one out?
Today I taught a year 3 class that I have taught now for 4 different days. I still do not know all of their names. I taught a yr1 class for the first time on friday and by the of the day I knew all their names?
I find this regularly, the younger the children the easier it is to learn their names? Is it just a mental block becuase I don't like teaching them? Or something else? Does anyone have the reverse?

(but I did have a good day with them, they worked so hard and were so involved unlike the last time I taught them. I've got to teach them hockey - real hockey with wooden sticks and hard balls!!!!! on wednesday - help! scary, I woulnd't even let yr8's near real sticks when I instructed older ones!)

I think it's because you have more interaction with them the younger they are... Y6 will sit and work, you don't need to talk to them, and you only have to infer at who you are telling off, they know who you mean... the younger ones, you have to learn their names just to communicate at a basic level....

And OMG - there's no way I'd do hockey with sticks!
