Default Good Afternoon

Hi all,
Thought I'd drop in and introduce myself as I've just found this site and it looks a lot more positive than the TES staffroom forum. I'm a late 20's bloke who walked out of his previous permanent position after a creative bullying campaign by SMT.
But, to be honest, I'm enjoying this supply lark. I am now on my second maternity cover in the same school since leaving my last post at Easter, and getting on really well with all the staff and kids.

So...it's not all doom and gloom,
get out there, be friendly, be professional and things can work out.

Mind you - I am always skint, but I'm learning to live with that.

I'm looking forward to spending time here.

Take Care

COTW

Well hello to you.

I agree this is a more positive place to be.

Supply is by far and away the best way to teach if you can afford the lean months. You even get unexpected days off (like me today) but this is marred by not getting paid for them.

Anways nice to see you we need a few men around here.

Make sure you get yourself a nice glittery signature though.

HI,
nice to meet you, glad you are enjoying the supplying. I left my job after some not so creative bullying. I haven't been as lucky as you getting work, but i'm sticking in there and finding out that not all SMT are like my old ones.
Good luck and i'm sure men can enjoy choc as much as us. My dad certainly does!

Hi cotw!

Great to hear you're getting on with supply... it's a joy when you're enjoying it... and (having been bullied by HT before) it's great to get into different schools to see how they work, and how staff should be treated!

Are you after a perm post in the long run? Or loving the supply too much?

Hello and welcome from me too!

Definitely much friendlier on here than TES. Hope the maternity covers continue to go well, do you finish at Christmas or have you got work for the spring term too?

Don’t worry if you can’t find the chocolate biscuits, I’m sure we’ll all be happy with mulled wine and mince pies!

I bought some red wine tonight on my way home thinking I would have a lovely glass of mulled wine while I wrote my Christmas cards, so far no mulling and no Christmas cards! I’ll probably just end up drinking red wine!

Having a bloke around can do no harm! Apart from when I go on chocolate rampage - god help anyone around me! It's even more fun this time of year with all the cheap selection boxes.

Thank you all for your lovely hellos. Unfortunately though I ate all the biscuits.

Ah, you see there's the fundamental difference twixt men and women you see... men are happy with cheap selection boxes... whereas women want something from nowhere less than Thornton's and Green & Black's!

Ach! Who am I kidding? Pass that selection box here!
