I'm in Victoria too.

I survived my first day of supply. It was a bit bizarre actually - I only had 5 students in my class!

I was at a special needs school though.... so it was quite different as my day. I've never worked in a special needs school before so it was good.

with regards to working over here... it is very hard to say. If you are looking for a permanent position it can be really competitive in the city suburb schools. When my hubbie was applying (primary teacher) there were often over 100 applicants per position!

Sounds like your first day went well!

I had my first day of emergency today. I must say, it's so different when you're not teaching something that you've planned yourself, in both good and bad ways. Good because I wasn't so emotionally invested in the content, but bad because I couldn't really get involved and 'teach' as I normally would.

Walking out at the end of the day when the bell went though...bliss!
