Are supply teachers to be paid on Point 1 of pale scale - is this true?!!

Just read on a discussion thread on the TES sight that supply teachers are to be paid on Point 1 of the pay scale. It was in relation to another topic so there were no details. Is this true and how do I not know anything about this?! Can anyone shead any light on this subject....I'm hoping that it's a rumour and not true at all!!!

Well I won't be working if that's the case... What is it they say? "I won't get out of bed for less than..."

That TES post is on the Scottish section of the site so I presume it only applies to Scotland who work under different terms and conditions from England and Wales. Having said that it seems most supply teachers now work through agencies who pay a flat rate anyway which is very low. Certainly I am being paid about £65 A DAY less than I would be if I were paid to scale and that's even with me doing a long term placement. So I still have all the planning and assessing and assemblies etc that I would do if I were contracted to the school. I feel very hard done by but it's too late to go back to full time at the moment.
