Unhappy New Cover Supervisor...anyone else?

Hi everyone,

Just had my first day as a Cover Supervisor!

Have a year to kill before I can start my PGCE and when I found out about this I thought it was a great way to get classroom experience. I'd never heard of this before, it seems like a very new thing, but...correct me if I'm wrong...it seems like a supply teacher without a teaching qualification, just observing work already set by the teacher.

I did enjoy my first day but was disheartened by some behaviour problems

ing behaviour in the long term by setting boundaries and building a rapport with pupils...which is impossible when you're meeting them for the first time.

Hence why I'm here....hoping to glean some tips from you folks
