Hi,

As you say, the anticipation is worse than the actual thing!

If the planning isn't clear (I've never had that problem), ask another teacher / TA and, if they can't make head nor tail of it, just go with what you think and explain what you've done on a sheet of paper at the end of the day! It won't be your fault!

Try to be prepared and have a few

s up your sleeve - have a look through previous posts on the subject - and everything will be fine.

Good luck!

Hi

I am feeling very nervous as well.

I have registered with 4 agencies and I really dont know what to expact as its the first time I have done anything like this!

My hope is that it will lead to a full time position and compleating my NQT year.

Going clothes shopping tommorrow so hopefully that will help with the confidence. Very unsure about resources - do I need all the pens paper etc? Should I have a bank of activities for each subject I could be teaching?

Any tips would be great!

Thanks

s on each topic. I am just hoping the planning left will be easy enough to teach from.

I have only signed up with one supply agency and I was planning on signing up to one more. Is 2 supply agencies too little to get enough work?? I dont want to be turning too much work down, but i want to make sure im working at least 4 days a week.

Thanks for your advice!

lawood0 - 2 should be fine but there is no problem with making the agencies compete against each other to get work for you - remember, they are working for you (and you are paying them to do so by allowing them to take some of your wages)
Keep phoning them asking why you haven't had work if necessary

- you could just settle with one agency if you get enough work through them.

MissEmilia - you shouldn't need pens and paper etc but I ALWAYS take my own pens as some teachers are very disorganised and I can't find their pens, particularly at register time! A few

s for subjects that can be differentiated for different age groups would be helpful, just in case, as would "5 minute fillers"
