Default Hello

Just stumbled upon this website today and am so grateful! Have just moved down from Scotland and am about to take up Primary supply work in September. I'm utterly terrified (although wont be showing the kids that..) as I hate being the 'newbie' all the time and also worried about having not taught the English curriculum before!

However, I am loo

forward to getting lots of experience, not having to spend every weekend and evening planning and hopefully seeing lots of great practice!!

I've read through lots of post on the site, have been reading up as much as I can about the Primary Curriculum but would be delighted to receive any tips anyone want's to give me on approaching my new teaching career!!

Thanks in advance......

Welcome Rubygem, to be honest as you are an experienced teacher and have those skills to take into supply teaching (wherever you've previously worked - it all counts). You will have the necessary skills to control the class, follow planning, differentiate and work with SEN etc.

If you ask me you're well on your way girl and once you get into the mode of supply teaching you will be fine I'm sure. Good luck and keep posting this is a really useful site. Others on here will have loads of advice.
