Another supply teacher with attitude.......
Hello everyone To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. !!! I have been in teaching for 35 years and about 4/5 years ago decided to get out of full time and 'just' do supply. I felt there was more important things to do than fill forms in, like teaching.
I like doing this work but miss the wonderful relationship you have with a class after nearly a year.
I have found that to go in to a new class especially a year 6, it is best to go in spitting nails To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. and then once rules have been established everyone can have a bit of fun.
One job I had was with a year 6 class. One young man bounced down the line and told me he had a behavioural problem. I told him that he didn't know what a behavioural was and then shrieked at him that I was the one with the problem and to get into the line.
The next time I went into the school with the same class, I could hear him telling everyone that it was the teacher with attitude To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Love the emoticons by the way To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

Hello! LOL Love the attitude! I'm a bit like that myself... not happy with a telling off unless there've been tears sometimes!
A bit quiet here this weekend as some of us are enjoying the last day of half term, whilst the rest are enjoying the start...
I don't miss the relationships with the children, I'm just coming up to the end of a 'let's see what happens' 4 terms back in full time teaching, and haven't enjoyed it... stupidly, money worries have led me to agree to another year come September, but I haven't signed anything yet, and have decided over half term not to. Going back to a class base, I realised once again there's nothing I'll miss when I'm back on supply, just the ease of being able to drive to school on autopilot in the morning coz the car knows where it's going!!
Look forward to chatting with you here...

Thanks for getting back to me. I know what you mean about money. I hate the beginning of term when there isn't much work and you wait for the phone to go. This seems to last ages and then all of a sudden ther's more work than you need and you wonder why you didn't enjoy that extra bit of time.
Normally I manage to get my own work but have recently joined an agency who have only phoned me three times and but by then I have managed to find my own work.
Last week was half term for me and me and the oh were travelling to the hospital to see a friend. I had taken my diary with me as it happened. My mobile rang and it was the agency. Meanwhile I had Tom Tom on my lap for directions. The agency asked if I was available for work this week and I said to hang on whilst I checked my diary and that I was on my way to the hospital and that I was using the satnav. The girl asked if i was driving and I told her that altho I could multi task I wasn't that good. Can you imagine - fiddling in my bag for my phone and answering, whilst checking my diary and using sat nav and driving at the same time? Super supply or what?
Hope to hear from you again and others. Do I understand you have bc's? Me too!!

I have a red and white bc called Tiff who was rescued from Ireland after being tied up at a petrol station and abandoned at 2 months old and a red and white gremlin/boinger/jr/bc called Charlie Parker the slug slayer who was rescued on the day he was due to be pts at also 2 months. I am part of the support group and forum of the specialized rescue centre which is totally voluntary and I contribute to them as my 'charity' as wel as some contributions to cancer research so i am so sorry but on a supply teachers income I can't give a deal more although I do admire other people's efforts to their own special charities.
I had Tiff and charlie when i decided to do supply and so I can't possibly return to full time permanent teaching To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts..
How do I get a proper avator round here and can I post pics? My interactive skills are limited To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.
Not working tomorrow but "I'll be back!"
Hope this works!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice to have a newbie on here. Keep regaling us with the funnies, it keeps us full-timers going. I am full-time and SENco now, which is LOADS of paperwork, but I love it, and I love the forum which is why I'm still here!

Red's a rescue, sort of, farmer got foot and mouth so couldn't work any, and took 2-day old litter of 6 to a vet friend to pts, but she hand reared them and found forever homes for them all! Most of Red's brothers and sisters went in the army!!!
