Red face Hi!

Hello fellow suppliers! I've lurked on here for a while but decided it was time for me to actually introduce myself.

I'm an NQT and new to supply teaching. I had my own year 1 class last term, but when the job got made permanent the school decided to employ somebody else, rather than me. I'm bitter but getting over it.

Anyway, I've been supplying with an agency since the start of term and am already enjoying the reduced stress, but am still looking for that perfect job to at least get me through my NQT year. I live in Bristol so permanent jobs are like hens' teeth.

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Jo

Hello and welcome Jo, this is a great site full of useful advice (amongst chatter about chocolate) and really friendly people. I've been using it for a while now and found it invaluable company especially on the days when you feel a bit down on supply.

Hello! Are you getting into the same schools now you've been doing it a while? Getting to know the kids and staff? Makes it a lot easier day-to-day and keeps you in mind for forthcoming jobs!

Hi there, I too did supply in Bristol, I was with the agency cover and they got me loads of work in North Somerset which has some lovely schools and most places are not too far. Might be worth looking at getting a CRB for N.Som? Good luck and feel free to ask me about schools if I can remember I'll give you tips!

Hello and welcome from me too. I did supply for a bit last year when I relocated, full time again now, but as others mentioned, this forum is great for support and good advice.

I trained in Bristol (St Pauls, Downend, Westbury on Trym and Yate) and loved it, feeling nostalgic now.

Good luck with the supply!

Wow, thanks for the warm welcome everybody! Gnomoospan, I've actually registered with Cover, but haven't been able to work for them yet as my CRB has to be renewed. I hear they're really good though, so I hope to get a lot of work from them.
