I've finished!!!

I'll still be here, I'll have more time (stop To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. ing, this baby is going to sleep 20hrs a day for the 1st year and the house will be finished!) to put into the front end of the site, and maybe get this forum a bit more organised too...
Sooooo.... as we all look forward to a lovely, long summer holiday I just want to say:

I'm not here to rub your noses in it though...
Rather to lecture:
- Don't come to the forum for anything but gossip over the hols in at least 4 of the 6 weeks...
- Don't spend your summer planning if you're starting a new class in September... they're summer holidays!
- If you're not starting with a contract in September, don't fret... I've heard on the political grapevine that schools are being told off for using HLTAs/TAs for PPA/supply cover so there should be more work next year than this past year.
- Enjoy the break, and get lots of fresh air. If you're moving into a new classroom - don't spend more than 3 days sorting it out.
- We want to hear about your holiday if you're lucky enough to be going away, we're a nosey bunch!
- Ruby_Tuesday: Happy Birthday for tomorrow!!!
- Footie: OMG! Happy New Baby in around 15 days time!
- Clarabelle & Danfur: Happy Wedding Day in... is it 9 days now?!
- (They're all the events I can think of right now!)
- If anyone's having a break in the Lakes, look me up...
...and consider staying here this time next year if you're up again!

Well about time too - this has been a real bug bear of mine. I love working in Reception and this seems to be the worst year group for the use of TAs in my area. "Oh, we need somebody to teach in Reception. Who shall I chose? A teacher who completed a 4 year BEd followed by many years of teaching experience or a mum who helped at school and ended up being offered a job?!!!?!!! Oh, I'm off to Tuscany for my summer hols - 2 weeks in the sun with loads of pizza, pasta and ice-cream! I can't wait!! To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. I promise to be a good girl all holidays, and not think about school for more than a To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. of weeks! I'm getting the 'going in' over on Monday, and then I'm not going to do much thinking about school over the holidays. Except for the odd bit of computer stuff here and there. We have INSET on the Monday and Tuesday before term begins anyway, and my classroom looks pretty good because all the furniture is new and the space is well organised already.
Most of the holiday will be taken up with puppy stuff (can believe you left our new arrival off your list Nutty!)
We might be in the Lakes - if we are I'll let you know.
P.S. Just cut your name down - no-one ever uses your full username anyway!

Woohoo! Yipppeeee Well done Nutty! Just need to get the house done before baby!
As for the advice I totally agree, it is the HOLIDAYS so make sure you all get some rest and 'me' time, din't spend it all worrying/thinking/doing school stuff. Relax, see friends and family etc etc...
As for me, I am trying not to think that birth of Footie jr number 2 is very imminent! I will text Nutty once the event happens and I am sure she will update you all on here as soon as she can!
Good luck Nutty with your new career and motherhood! xx

It must be like starting life all over again Nutty.
I popped across to Yorkshire last week for 4 days with hubby and thoroughly enjoyed it (it's the first time we've been anywhere without the chn). It was good fun as we met up with friends, spent an amazingly exhausting day walking/climbing the dales-stunning and experienced some good old yorkshire pubs and not forgetting the shopping trip!
Enjoy the hols everyone.
Good luck to all going away/getting married and having babies. xxx

Thanks everyone... It's fab... though I've been diagnosed with what Footie's been off work with... SPD. No where near as bad as hers, just annoying and I've been told to avoid walking as much as possible... so my To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater.
