Cool Ideas for home tuition

Hi, I am about to start some home tuition for my LEA with a year 11 student and would love some tips. He is obviously wanting to revise and I am wondering how I can support him while allowing him to do what he feels he needs to do. I will be in a one to one situation and he is a capable student. To put it bluntly I want to feel like I am earning my money and not sitting there like a spare part. Any advise would be appreciated. x

I have done a lot of home-tutoring, although generally with younger children.
However, when I tutored 2 Year 11 children with their maths, they were happy to lead the way - they would let me know which areas they were unsure of and I would then work through each area.
