I've worked in a Catholic school quite a few times. They say/sing a prayer at the beginning of the day, at lunch, in assembly and at the end of the day. They may learn more about Christianity more than other religions (although they have to be taught awareness) and are taught to be respectful and caring towards their fellow man/woman! Why don't you visit one!

No, most church schools simply reflect the areas in which they are loed. All CofE Voluntary Conted schools (around 2,500) have 100 per cent local admissions, and fully reflect the community within which they are set.

I worked for several years in a Cof E school. The children were from the local area (it was the only school for miles). We had a crucifix in the entrance hall and attended the local church once every half term and the vicar came to give assembly every other week. We sang more religious based hymns in assembly and said the Lord's Prayer. At dinner time we said grace before going into dinner. When Ofsted came the church 'Ofsted' People also visited to observe the Christian aspect of the school. And that was about it!
