Join NAT (National AIDS Trust) in celebrating World AIDS Day this December!
World AIDS Day (1 December) was set up in 1988 as the first international health-awareness day. It remains one of the only health days that is recognised globally. The symbol of World AIDS Day, the Red Ribbon, is universally identifiable and we are therefore inviting you to raise awareness amongst your pupils through the symbol of the red ribbon by taking part in our Red Ribbon Poster Challenge!
The posters must be a maximum of A1 size and must include the symbol of the red ribbon as well as conveying the theme of this year’s World AIDS Day: ACT AWARE. They can be sent in to us at our office (details inside the World AIDS Day Schools Fundraising pack -
The poster competition can be run at the same time as raising money from our collection boxes where pupils pay a donation in exchange for a red ribbon which they can wear to show their support of people living with HIV. As previous experience shows, World AIDS Day is a fantastic opportunity to engage young people on the subject of HIV so why not take part in our challenge whilst fundraising for NAT, or you could organise one of our Red Ribbon events for schools: ‘Red Ribbon’s Got Talent’ (a twist on X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent) or you might have a ‘Red Ribbon Non-Uniform day’. For more details of how to get involved, and how to organise these events - please download our World AIDS Day Fundraising Pack for Schools or visit the Schools page on the World AIDS Day website -
To order your free collection box and Schools Pack, along with an Assembly Plan (which proves a great way to introduce the subject of World AIDS Day among your pupils) please visit the collection box page on the World AIDS Day website -
Our website can easily be found by googling "World Aids Day" - It should be the first result returned.

Many thanks for your support !
